What is J.K Tae Kwon Do?

J.K Tae Kwon Do is a Martial arts school that teaches the traditional korean martial art of Tae Kwon Do. Tae Kwon Do stands for Foot/kicking, Hand/punching, and the way of life. TKD is a stand up martial art, almost 70% of it is the use of the legs.

Classes are 1 hour long for adults and 50 minutes long for children and teens. Classes consist of some cardio/conditioning, and stretching. Kicking/punching, and practicing techniques such as Poomse (forms) or falling motions are on a daily routine. We also practice Hapkido. (self-defense / hand techniques, & etc.)

Our program is designed to assist in the personal development of our students. We use a variety of activities to help us achieve our objectives, including an Olympic sport, an artistic discipline, self-defense training, and an abundance of exercises.

Our philosophy is that all students can continuously improve themselves, both physically and mentally through Tae Kwon Do training, and enjoy the process.

Tae Kwon Do originated in Korea, over two thousand years ago. It has developed and improved over the centuries. Today, Tae Kwon Do is the world's most popular martial art. It is an official Olympic sport. People practice Tae Kwon Do in every country in the world. It is known throughout the world that Tae Kwon Do is very beneficial to children. The course/s of a Tae Kwon Do Academy is fun and a safe system of personal development, which is highly recommended by many parents, physicians, and educators. It may be the best extra-curricular activity for children.

Tae Kwon Do is an artistic discipline for both adults and children. The techniques are done with graceful and powerful movements. Students continuously strive to improve the artistic presentation of each technique. The art of Tae Kwon Do develops posture, graceful movement, excellent coordination, and attention to detail. We believe that all adults and children can benefit from exposure to an artistic discipline.



When you make a choice about a martial arts school, you need to make THE RIGHT choice. You can tell right away if this school is the place where you can train and better yourself, or not. But you can't know that if you do not come in and see it for yourself. You need to see if the place feels right, are the people friendly? Are the classes actually going to help me reach a certain goal? ...

Children need to learn, but learning needs to be fun for children or else getting their attention might seem impossible. We keep our classes fun, active, and pretty much fast-pace. But there will still be order in the class. Students do not get out of control or "act-out". We are strict when it comes to Respect and Discipline. Especially respecting parents, teachers, and elders. We also demand/teach strong school manners, achieving high scores and finishing Homework is always encouraged.

I'm proud to say that the students here at J.K Tae Kwon Do are great when it comes to Discipline, Respect, and Confidence. well, after all. That is the True way of Tae Kwon Do.
